Seven steps, from opening an account to the morning your child is expected in class. The journey runs on our own Parent Portal and is administered by the Registrar's Office. Every stage is written into your account, where you can read it back.
The Digital Journey
Each step happens inside the Parent Portal, and each one is recorded. Every outcome, whether offered, waitlisted or declined, is written into your account. Either route reaches the Registrar. The full application is ten steps and about half an hour, saves as you go, and takes the birth certificate, photographs and school reports with it. The short one opens a file on your account straight away, and you can add the rest from your dashboard whenever it suits you.

Behind the Scenes
The seven steps above are what a family does. The twelve below are what the school does: the same process, seen from the Registrar's side of the desk. It is one process counted twice, and we publish both counts, because an admissions process a parent cannot see the inside of is not a transparent one.
A call, a message, or a morning on campus. Nothing is committed and nothing is charged.
Your enquiry reaches the admissions office, and a member of staff takes you through what applies to your child's age and the institution you are asking about.
The admission form itself carries a charge, confirmed by the admissions office. You submit it with three documents: your child's birth certificate, two recent passport photographs, and a report sheet or testimonial from any previous school. That is the file opened.
A phone number and an email address we will actually use, for the assessment date, the result, and everything that follows it.
A written entrance examination, an academic test pitched to your child's age and the class applied for, and a short interview with you and your child together. For the youngest applicants it is a gentle morning of play and observation.
We tell you the outcome and what it means. It is written into your portal account, and we will sit down and go through it with you if you would like that.
A place in the class your child has qualified for, on the evidence of the assessment.
Tuition and other fees are paid once the offer is in your hands, and not before.
Issued with a unique number your child keeps for the whole of their time here. It is the number every later record is filed under.
The Registrar's Office confirms the class placement and issues the ticket that admits your child to it.
Classes begin on presentation of the ticket, and your child is expected by name.
The handover does not end at the gate. A safety incident, an illness beyond minor first aid, or a substantive disciplinary matter reaches you the same day it happens.

Where Your Child Starts
Children join us at every age, and not only at the beginning. The table below tells you which of our five institutions your child would apply to. The assessment decides the class.

Boarding at Qur'an College is offered to children aged 9 to 16. The College also takes day students, and the admissions office will tell you which applies to your child. Where an age sits on the boundary between two institutions, the entrance assessment settles the placement, and a child is offered the class they have qualified for rather than the class their birthday suggests.
Stage 5 · In Detail
Across all four enrolled institutions — the Basic School, Royal College, Qur'an College, and the School of Islamic and Arabic Studies — entrance assessment combines a written entrance examination, an academic test appropriate to the applicant's age and desired class, and a short interview with the child and parent or guardian. For the youngest applicants, in the nursery years, this is a gentle morning of play and observation rather than a written paper. Results are shared for the next step, and admission is offered into the qualifying class based on performance.
Stage 6 · In Detail
Every application outcome is recorded in your Parent Portal account, in writing, where you can go back and read it. Once your application moves past initial review, you will see one of a small number of real outcomes.
A place is available in the qualifying class. An offer is followed by fee payment and an admission letter carrying a unique number.
A place may become available. You remain in consideration and are notified in the portal if one opens.
Where a class is at capacity, the file is closed for this cycle — clearly, and in writing, rather than left unanswered.
Stage 7 · In Detail
Once you accept an offer and pay tuition and other fees, the Registrar's Office confirms enrolment and class placement, issues a class acceptance ticket, and classes begin upon its presentation. That is the same office that will handle promotions, transfers, withdrawals and graduation for the whole of your child's time at Sultan Hanafi.
