Institutional Authority

Who Answers For This School

A school is only as trustworthy as the structure that outlives the people running it. Sultan Hanafi is governed by a Board of Governors and led by a Management Team drawn from finance, education and Islamic scholarship — named here in full, with what each of them is accountable for.

Dr. Zakariya Olanrewaju Anofi, Founder of Sultan Hanafi Royal Schools
Founder Dr. Zakariya Olanrewaju Anofi M.Sc. Financial Management · B.Sc. Applied Accounting · FCA · FCCA Chairman of the Board of Governors & Head of Schools / Administrator

On executive authority. The office of Chief Executive Officer no longer exists as an independent executive office. The Founder's authority is exercised solely through the two constitutionally recognised offices he holds — Chairman of the Board of Governors, and Head of Schools / Administrator — and not outside the governance framework set out below. It is a deliberate constraint: the person who built the school is answerable to the structure he built, in the same terms as everyone else in it.

Governance Structure

Authority, and Where It Stops

Each tier answers upward. The Board sits above the executive — including above the Founder in his executive capacity — which is the point of having one.

Management-Level Committees

Seven Standing Operational Committees

Every hazard-related incident or near-miss is reported to the Health, Safety & Facilities Committee the same day. Health and safety matters are handled through that Committee and, at institutional level, the Safeguarding Committee. The Charter constitutes no separate Health and Safety Committee and no Complaints Committee: formal written complaints are considered through the Disciplinary & Ethics Committee, and the route by which a complaint travels is set down in the Charter itself.

Da'wah Committee

Islamic outreach and the religious life of the school.

Academic Committee

Day-to-day academic operations across the institutions.

Sports Committee

Physical education, fixtures and recreation.

Communications & Public Affairs

External communication and public representation.

Student Life Committee

Clubs, leadership, welfare and the life outside lessons.

Admissions & Enrolment

Applications, assessment scheduling and enrolment.

Health, Safety & Facilities

Every hazard-related incident or near-miss, reported the same day.

Educators & Student Governance

The Structure Below the Departments

Teaching staff report through the approved academic structure of their school. Students are represented through a recognised Student Representative body and a School Prefectorial Council operating under the approved student governance framework; each class elects or appoints Class Captains in accordance with institutional regulations; and recognised clubs and societies operate under institutional supervision. Named office-holders in each body are published as each school year's appointments are confirmed.

Transparency

What This Institution Publishes

Governance that cannot be read is not governance. Every instrument by which Sultan Hanafi Royal Schools is directed is published entire, in the words in which it was adopted, over the signature of the office that adopted it — and every credential it issues can be checked by a stranger, without an account and without asking permission.

Every Policy, in Full

Academic, safeguarding, financial and data-protection policies — each with its approval status, review cycle and revision history. Published complete, not summarised.

Our Direction

The priorities adopted by the Board of Governors and the Management Team, the order in which they are to be pursued, and the horizon against which this institution measures itself.

The Board’s Calendar

The Board of Governors convenes to the calendar settled by the Chairman at the opening of each academic year. Term dates and the milestones of the school year are published in the Academic Calendar.

Annual Reports & Resolutions

The Board maintains a register of its resolutions, from which the public record is drawn. The Annual Report is laid before the Board at the close of each financial year and published here entire, in the words in which it was adopted rather than in summary.
